No browser except Safari can display a TIFF, so the first TIFF you drop downloads a small open-source reader (UTIF.js, about 80 KB, pinned and fingerprint-checked) which decodes it on your device. After that the conversion is the same as for any other picture.

JPG, PNG or WebP?

JPG for photographs: much smaller than the TIFF, and accepted everywhere.
PNG for scans of text, line art and anything black and white: lossless and crisp.
WebP when size matters most and the file is going on a website.

A multi-page TIFF?

The converter makes one picture per file, from the first page. For a scanned document or a fax with several pages, use TIFF to PDF instead, which keeps every page in order.
