Thread Splitter
Split long essays, articles and thoughts into perfectly sized, numbered posts for X, Bluesky, Mastodon, Threads and LinkedIn.
🔒 Runs entirely in your browser — nothing you type is uploaded or stored on a server.
The Thread Splitter breaks long text, blog posts, essays and articles into clean, numbered social media posts that fit platform character limits. Select a target network (X/Twitter, Bluesky, Mastodon, Threads, LinkedIn) or enter a custom character cap, and your text is split at natural sentence and word boundaries.
Also on Txtset: check tweet and post character limits · measure spoken presentation time.
Manually splitting an article into tweets is frustrating: counting characters by hand, awkward mid-word breaks, and re-numbering (1/8) when an extra thought is added. This tool handles boundary calculations automatically, reserving space for numbering suffixes like (1/10) or thread hooks 🧵.
Each split segment appears in its own clean card with a character counter and an instant single-post Copy button, plus a 'Copy all posts' button to grab the complete thread formatted with clean separators.
How to use
- Select your destination platform preset (X 280, Bluesky 300, Mastodon/Threads 500, LinkedIn 3000) or enter a custom limit.
- Choose your numbering style: Prefix (1/n), Suffix (1/n), Thread hook (🧵), or None.
- Paste your long text into the input box.
- Review the generated post cards and copy individual posts or click 'Copy all posts'.
