🔒 Runs entirely in your browser — nothing you type is uploaded or stored on a server.

The Countdown Timer counts down from any time you set and rings a bell when it reaches zero. Enter hours, minutes and seconds — or tap a preset like 5, 10 or 25 minutes — and start. A big, clear readout and a progress ring that empties as time runs down make it easy to read from across the room, and the remaining time also shows in the browser tab so you can glance at it from another window.

The alarm is generated on the fly with the Web Audio API, so there is no sound file to download and nothing to load. Choose from a gentle chime, a resonant bell, a short beep or a digital alarm, and preview any of them with the Test button. Turn on Repeat and the timer restarts automatically after it rings — handy for interval work, stretches or timed rounds.

It is built for focus sessions, cooking, workouts, study sprints and speaking time. The 25-minute preset is ready for a Pomodoro; pause and resume without losing your place; reset back to the set time in one tap. Everything runs in your browser with no account and no ads interrupting your countdown — just keep the tab open and the bell will sound when you're done.

How to use

  1. Set hours, minutes and seconds, or tap a preset such as 5m or 25m.
  2. Pick an alarm sound and press Test to hear it.
  3. Press Start — the ring empties and the tab title shows the time remaining.
  4. Pause and resume any time, or Reset to return to the set duration.
  5. Turn on Repeat for back-to-back intervals that restart after each bell.

Frequently asked questions

Will the alarm actually make a sound?
Yes. The bell is synthesised in your browser with the Web Audio API when time runs out. Because browsers require a user action to enable audio, press Start (or Test) at least once so the sound is unlocked.
Does the timer keep accurate time?
Yes. It counts against your device's clock rather than by counting frames, so it stays accurate even if the tab is briefly busy. The time remaining also appears in the tab title.
What if I switch to another tab?
The countdown keeps running and the bell still sounds. Some browsers throttle background tabs slightly, but because the timer checks the real clock it corrects itself and rings on time.
Can it repeat automatically?
Yes. Turn on Repeat and the timer restarts from the set duration after each bell — useful for interval training or repeated rounds.
Which alarm sounds are available?
A chime, a bell, a short beep and a digital alarm. Use the Test button to preview each and pick the one you like.
Does it need an account or internet?
No account, and it works offline once the page has loaded — there is no sound file or server involved, so nothing is downloaded when the alarm rings.
